I Have Three Stories in the New FRiGG

As usual, it looks just great. LOVE LOVE LOVE the artwork that's up on the splashpage, relating to my story "Young Frankenstein."

When I'm Rushing on my Run

I think I just wrote my best thing ever. It's 240 words long.

Scratch 'think.' I'm sure.

Read at Your Own Risk

Steven Millhauser's "The Next Thing" in the May issue of Harpers' is an outrageous and disorienting act of fiction. I've been discussing it w/ B all morning, but it won't be tamed. This is one that's going to continue to disturb me for a long time. Like Paul Bowles' "A Distant Episode" in that way, but worse because a little more relevant....

People Whose Blogs Don't Suck

Mine does.

The ones by the people in my 'blogjam' don't.

Read this post, by Ofelia Hunt. Is that not worth reading?

QF # 13

I've arranged to have it appear in my mail box. I'm quite happy w/ this arrangement.

Baseball Lit

Aaron Burch's annual baseball update is live @ Hobart. Late last season, I did a 'tri-alogue' with him and Piers Marchant on baseball fiction. It appeared here, in Two One Five magazine. Matthew Simmons offered a pretty erudite comment. I was like, You should be writing this, man. I should be commenting....

Short @ Dogzplot

"Accounts Payable" is up @ Dogzplot. I actually wrote it for Dogzplot. The editor there, Barry Graham, is a good guy and terrific writer. Every other Friday, he posts five stories under 200 words on the Dogzplot myspace site, and all sorts of people read them and comment. This is what you love to see if you're like me and want to see stories come out from behind the c.v.'s and live. Barry also just posted the most recent five, mine among them, as an ebook on the Dogzplot main page. It's pretty nifty. There's a Dawn Corrigan story in it, too. Dawn is an awesome writer.

(update: it's gone to archive now, which is here.)
