Steven Millhauser's "The Next Thing" in the May issue of Harpers' is an outrageous and disorienting act of fiction. I've been discussing it w/ B all morning, but it won't be tamed. "Accounts Payable" is up @ Dogzplot. I actually wrote it for Dogzplot. The editor there, Barry Graham, is a good guy and terrific writer. Every other Friday, he posts five stories under 200 words on the Dogzplot myspace site, and all sorts of people read them and comment. This is what you love to see if you're like me and want to see stories come out from behind the c.v.'s and live. Barry also just posted the most recent five, mine among them, as an ebook on the Dogzplot main page. It's pretty nifty. There's a Dawn Corrigan story in it, too. Dawn is an awesome writer.
(update: it's gone to archive now, which is here.)
